The company’s ambitions are aligned with the collaboration’s goals of developing an H2 refueling network across Europe for the heavy duty industry.

bp has joined H2Accelerate to support the adoption of hydrogen as energy source for the heavy duty sector across Europe.
The firm aims to invest in building infrastructure to support freight transport across major road networks in mainland Europe and the UK by 2030 to meet the needs of customers. This ambition is in line with those of the H2Accelerate collaboration, whose members are working towards the deployment of a hydrogen refueling network to support a pan-European hydrogen trucking system.
“bp is transitioning from an International Oil Company to an Integrated Energy company and having a key role in mobility. Hydrogen will be a key energy for heavy duty transport supporting carbon emissions reduction. To deliver this at both scale and pace will need companies across industries to work together, and this is exactly why we see collaborations like H2Accelerate as so valuable,” said Emma Delaney , Executive Vice President of Customers & Product.
bp has been welcomed to the collaboration as a key future infrastructure provider for heavy-duty hydrogen vehicles. The company will support efforts to develop hydrogen refueling infrastructure and advocate for the policy needed to rapidly upscale the European hydrogen freight ecosystem.
H2Accelerate is a collaboration agreement that seeks to develop a hydrogen refueling network across Europe for the heavy duty industry. Companies involved include energy giants such as TotalEnergies and Shell as well as truck manufacturers like Volvo and the Iveco Group.
