Iberdrola | bp pulse and Confederación Española de Empresarios de Estaciones de Servicio (CEEES) have signed a strategic agreement to install ultra-fast chargers at 500 service stations across Spain, in a move aimed at accelerating the shift to electric mobility in a sector largely made up of small and medium-sized businesses.

The partnership establishes Iberdrola | bp pulse as CEEES’s strategic ally in e-mobility and includes joint initiatives to promote and implement charging solutions at member stations. It also involves the organization of technical sessions, workshops, and publications aimed at SMEs in the sector, helping them adapt to the changing energy landscape.

Javier de Antonio, president of CEEES, described the agreement as “a transformative tool” that will enable the rollout of fast and ultra-fast charging at service stations — “the natural locations” for such infrastructure. Julio Martín, Head of Network Expansion at Iberdrola | bp pulse, said the deal “builds a bridge” between traditional service stations and EV users, in line with the company’s ambitious deployment plan in Spain and Portugal.

The engineering work will be carried out by Vestel Ingenieros, which will use its expertise to streamline permitting and installation processes. CEO Sara Díez called the project “a milestone in the transition towards more sustainable mobility.”

The initiative comes at a critical moment for Spain’s charging infrastructure. The alliance is expected to speed up the rollout of ultra-fast charging points and address one of the key barriers to widespread EV adoption: the lack of access to a broad, efficient network.
