The site features 44 ultra-rapid chargers powered by a mix of solar energy, battery storage and renewable grid power, alongside diverse amenities for drivers.

InstaVolt celebrated the official opening of the largest ultra-rapid charging Superhub in the UK, strategically located near the A34 and close to junction 9 of the M3, in Winchester.
This hub provides 44 ultra-rapid chargers, each capable of delivering up to 160kW of power for electric vehicles (EVs). Designed to accommodate a wide variety of vehicles, the site features drive-through bays for larger vehicles and towing setups, extra-long van bays, and dedicated accessible charging spaces to ensure inclusivity for all drivers.
The site is the company’s first Superhub to integrate an on-site solar farm and battery storage technology, featuring a total of 870 solar panels to use a mix of solar energy, battery storage, and renewable grid power.
“The Winchester Superhub isn’t just a charging hub – it’s a flagship site that sets a new standard for ultra-rapid EV charging. As our largest and most advanced site to date, it delivers industry-leading reliability at an unprecedented scale, ensuring drivers can charge quickly and with confidence,” said Delvin Lane, CEO of InstaVolt.
The company aims to design the next evolution of the service station with this site, built for the needs of modern EV drivers. Amenities include a dedicated on-site Starbucks café, 24/7 toilet facilities, a play park for children, and a dog walking area.
The Winchester Superhub is testament to InstaVolt’s mission to accelerate EV adoption by addressing key barriers such as range anxiety and charging affordability.
