The Maxol Group has been granted approval for the acquisition of seven new fuel retail and convenience locations across Ireland.

The company received the green light by the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) to take over these locations and expand its network to 252 sites nationwide. All sites will undergo rebranding through a €3m retrofitting programme, as reported by KCLR.

This transformation will also see the addition of car wash facilities and the store concept, set to feature convenience brands such as Deli and ROSA Coffee stations.

“Today’s announcement is a statement of our intent for the business. In the last ten years we have invested over €225m in our retail network, comprising expenditure programmes and initiatives designed to future proof the business and to meet the changing demands of our growing customer base,” said Brian Donaldson, CEO of The Maxol Group.

With this expansion, the Maxol brand is now featured across 252 locations throughout the country, with 122 company owned stations and 130 independently operated sites.
