Milence has opened its second electric truck charging hub in the Netherlands, located at Business Park Hessenpoort in Zwolle. The site marks a significant milestone in the country’s transition to zero-emission freight by introducing the first publicly accessible Megawatt Charging System (MCS). The company is a joint venture between Daimler Truck, the TRATON GROUP, and Volvo Group.

Strategically positioned near the A28 and A50 highways, the Zwolle hub provides direct access to key Dutch cities such as Amsterdam, Utrecht, and Groningen, while also serving as a vital link to German destinations like Münster, Dortmund, and the Ruhr region.

The first development phase includes four CCS chargers serving eight charging bays and one MCS charger supporting a dedicated bay. With a charging capacity of up to 1,440 kW, the MCS is capable of powering next-generation electric trucks in as little as 30 to 45 minutes.

Driver amenities at the hub include toilets, showers, a lounge area, vending machines, and WiFi. The facility is equipped with gated access, fencing, and camera surveillance, and features Milence’s signature architectural design with roof structures and arches intended to improve both function and aesthetics.

The Zwolle location is part of a broader expansion strategy by Milence to establish a pan-European network of electric truck charging stations.
