The deal will significantly expand OK Nederland’s footprint, bringing its total retail network to over 400 locations.

BP has agreed to sell its mobility and convenience and bp pulse businesses in the Netherlands to Catom, the parent company of the OK brand. The deal will significantly expand OK Nederland’s footprint, bringing its total retail network to over 400 locations and positioning it as one of the largest fuel and convenience retailers in the country.
The transaction includes around 300 bp-branded retail stations, many of which are equipped with on-site EV charging infrastructure, along with 15 operational bp pulse EV charging hubs, eight more under development, and bp’s Dutch fleet business.
The move is part of bp’s broader $20 billion divestment program, aimed at reshaping its downstream portfolio to focus on integrated growth opportunities. According to bp, the divestment supports its “reset bp” strategy and follows similar actions taken in other markets.
“We have built a high-quality retail and convenience business in the Netherlands but as we look to focus our downstream as part of a reset bp, we believe a new owner is best placed to take our Dutch business forward. We are working together with Catom to deliver a smooth and swift completion with minimal disruption on our people and customers,” said Emma Delaney, Executive Vice President, Customers & Products at bp.
Founded in 1998, Catom is a rapidly growing energy and mobility player focused on the trade, distribution, and sale of fuels and lubricants across the Netherlands. With the acquisition, Catom will not only integrate bp’s extensive retail network but also expand its reach in the EV charging space, aligning with broader shifts in consumer mobility behavior and sustainability trends.
“With this acquisition, we’re on our way to becoming the number one brand in our industry in the Netherlands. We’re happy and excited to welcome all our new colleagues,” added Jan Willem Westerhuis, CEO of Catom and OK Nederland.
The rebranding of the bp stations to OK is expected to begin in late 2025, marking a significant evolution in the country's mobility infrastructure and service station landscape.
