Two new ultra-fast chargers have been established in Skövde as part of the retailer’s partnership with Skellefteå Kraft and Volvo Trucks.

OKQ8, Skellefteå Kraft, and Volvo Trucks are continuing their commitment to the electrification of heavy road transport with two new ultra-fast chargers established in Skövde.
This new facility is open to all heavy vehicles regardless of manufacturer, as well as passenger cars. The site is equipped with four chargers, each delivering continuous power of 350 kW, and a payment terminal that allows multiple trucks to charge simultaneously.
“We are very pleased to open ultra-fast chargers for heavy traffic in Skövde. We firmly believe that increasing charging opportunities for heavy transport is a crucial key to accelerating the transition,” says Karin Eriksson, CEO of OKQ8.
With this site set to open on April 4th, the three companies continue on their journey to expand charging infrastructure for trucks. Currently, a total of 41 charging stations are planned, with the goal to establish one of Sweden’s largest unified networks of public charging stations for heavy-duty vehicles.
OKQ8, Skellefteå Kraft, and Volvo Trucks aim to create a network that spans the entire country, with distances between charging points significantly shorter than the range of current heavy electric vehicles.
