Orlen aims to intensify the implementation of alternative energy infrastructure in the Czech Republic.

A total of 66 service stations currently offer 267 electric vehicle (EV) charging points and two hydrogen filling sites for passenger cars, buses, and trucks. The network is starting to build its own infrastructure of ultra-fast EV charging sites and continues the project of three hydrogen filling stations in Prague, Brno, and Ostrava.

The company plans to run 1,800 high-speed EV charging points and over 20 hydrogen filling stations by 2030.

“Although traditional fuels will still dominate over the next ten to 15 years, we are also developing an infrastructure for electric vehicles. We have opened two hydrogen stations in Prague and Litvínov. For us, building this landscape means a necessary investment in remaining competitive in the future,” said Vladimír Dočekal, Director of the Orlen fuel retail network.

In addition to the existing charging stations from external partners, the company intends to build its own high-speed charging network. Orlen’s fuel retail network in the country includes 434 sites, the market’s leader in network size and fuel sales volume.

The Orlen Group operates over 3,000 locations in six countries – Poland, Czech Republic, Germany, Lithuania, Hungary and Slovakia, and will enter its seventh region in 2024 by taking over 266 Turmöl sites in Austria.
