Powering Convenience Retail with Vontier

Published on: Oct 29, 2025

The company showcased its unification strategy at the NACS Show 2025, connecting fueling, payments, car wash, and EV charging into one seamless ecosystem.

The NACS Show 2025 served as a key platform for Vontier to present its unification strategy, bringing together the strengths of Gilbarco Veeder-Root’s fueling solutions, Invenco’s payment innovations, DRB’s car wash technologies, and Driivz’s EV charging platform. The initiative aims to deliver an integrated portfolio designed to help convenience retailers address the evolving demands of today’s fuel and mobility landscape.

Andy Bennett, newly appointed Group President of Convenience Retail, introduced the relaunch by outlining Vontier’s vision to connect every aspect of the modern forecourt, from fueling and charging to in-store retail and car wash operations. Under this new structure, each brand will continue to operate within its area of expertise but will do so under the unified Convenience Retail division, powered by the Vontier brand.

“The idea of a small gas station without convenience is going away,” Bennett explained. “We are seeing the scale increase in size and, as the convenience retail space continues to take more EV charging, that experience needs to be different. A lot of what we are doing is thinking how to make that a unified experience, whether you are in the forecourt fueling or charging, inside the retail indoor space, or getting a car wash.”

When it comes to convenience, Betsy Vos Reeves, Senior Director of Product Management at Invenco by GVR, presented the company’s Passport point-of-sale solution, a flexible, omnichannel system designed to meet the growing demand for foodvenience.

“You can do express ordering or self-checkout, as speed of service is critical in convenience. We’ve really thought about everything as it relates to expanding with things like food because we know c-stores are becoming a destination for food,” explained Vos Reeves.

Finally, David Schuster, Senior Director and Portfolio Manager for Devices at Invenco by GVR, turned the focus to payments. He highlighted the importance of unified, flexible solutions such as FlexPay, which can be deployed across all areas of fuel retail operations, simplifying both certification and system management while ensuring a consistent payment experience.

“The real benefit for the merchant, and really the customer, is that you have a unified customer experience. But for simplification, you have one vendor that is supplying you a single solution across all those different pay points,” concluded Schuster.

Vontier’s unified approach at the NACS Show 2025 showcased its vision for a connected future in convenience retail. By bringing together the technologies and expertise of Gilbarco Veeder-Root, Invenco, DRB, and Driivz, the company demonstrated how an integrated ecosystem can simplify operations, enhance customer experiences, and redefine the modern forecourt for the next era of mobility.
