Strategic transaction creates integrated platform to scale renewable biomethane refuelling for heavy goods vehicles.

ReFuels N.V. and Foresight Group have finalized a transaction that positions CNG Fuels as a fully integrated clean fuel company.
The move consolidates biomethane sourcing, Renewable Transport Fuel Certificate (RTFC) generation, and refuelling infrastructure under one entity. This creates a unified platform to accelerate the decarbonisation of the UK’s heavy goods vehicle (HGV) sector.
With this transaction, Foresight Group has transferred ownership of 15 stations to CNG Fuels, bringing the company’s total to 16 stations, including one under construction. Plans are in place to build at least nine additional grid-connected sites and deploy mobile refuelling units over the next three years.
ReFuels, in turn, has transferred its 49% share in RTFS, increasing CNG Fuels’ stake in the biomethane and RTFC business to 78.4%.
The integration brings together operational capabilities and funding strength, with the ultimate goal of doubling the current refuelling capacity to serve up to 20,000 HGVs per day by the end of 2028.
