Ten new sites in Baden-Württemberg add 26 charging points as Shell strengthens regional focus on e-mobility.

Shell is accelerating the rollout of its Shell Recharge fast-charging network in southwest Germany, with ten new locations now offering 26 modern charging points for electric vehicles (EV). The new stations are located in Baden-Baden, Bad Krozingen, Bad Rappenau, Buchen, Lahr-Reichenbach, Reilingen, Sersheim, Vaihingen-Horrheim, Villingen-Schwenningen, and Walzbachtal.
The new infrastructure offers simple operation and multiple payment options, including the Recharge app, charging card, and contactless payments. Business customers can also use the Shell Card to charge their vehicles in addition to refueling with traditional fuels.
With these additions, the company continues its strategy of making e-mobility more practical and supporting the buildout of a nationwide fast-charging network. Baden-Württemberg is a key focus region, ranking third among German states both in EV density (5,900 per 100,000 passenger cars) and in total registrations, with 268,000 electric cars as of January 2025.
“Our goal is to make charging as simple and reliable as possible—right where people are already on the move,” said Florian Glattes, Head of Shell’s Retail Business in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
Shell Recharge currently operates around 1,700 fast-charging points across Germany, with 280 charging points already installed in the state. The company plans further expansion in the coming years, particularly at service stations and in cooperation with retail partners such as Penny and REWE.
