ubitricity, the UK’s largest operator of public electric vehicle (EV) charge points and a subsidiary of Shell, has reached a significant milestone with the installation of its 10,000th public charging point. The company now accounts for 12% of all public EV charge points across the UK.

The achievement underscores a period of rapid growth for the company. In the past year alone, ubitricity has undertaken large-scale deployment projects, including 2,000 charge points in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets, over 500 in Waltham Forest, more than 100 in Westminster, and 560 in Birmingham.

These expansions are designed to address the growing demand for public EV charging—particularly for drivers who lack access to home charging solutions.

“Successfully installing 10,000 charge points in the UK is a huge milestone for ubitricity,” said Alexander Reinhardt, CEO of ubitricity. “With more than 10,000 ubitricity public charge points already across the UK, multiple live network expansions and our widespread growth plans, we are proud to support even more EV drivers and local authorities across the UK. It is a very exciting time to be part of ubitricity.”

This growth aligns with the UK government’s broader plans to accelerate the rollout of EV infrastructure. The company is poised to further expand its footprint under the £381 million Local Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (LEVI) Fund, which aims to deliver 100,000 additional public charge points across the country.

As it continues to partner with local governments and utilize innovative on-street and lamp post-based solutions, ubitricity is expected to play a pivotal role in supporting the country’s zero-emission mobility goals.
