Shell has appointed Florian Glattes as new General Manager Mobility for Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

Thus, he will be responsible for the company’s service station business in these countries, succeeding Linda van Schaik, who successfully held this position for three years. She will return to the Netherlands and then leave the Shell Group at her own request.

“For us, the filling station is and remains the place where customers can find products and services to meet their mobility needs: a diversified range of fuels, electric charging stations, car washes and an attractive store offering including a wide range of coffee, fresh baked goods and snacks,” says Glattes.

Glattes has been working in the Shell Group for almost 20 years, working in various positions with a focus on marketing and sales in the Mobility, Lubricants and Aviation business areas. Most recently, he was Vice President of E-Mobility Solutions, where he was responsible for the Shell Group's ambitious plans for the global expansion of the charging infrastructure.

“The majority of German vehicles still run on diesel and petrol. Accordingly, we will continue to offer these fuels at our filling stations for many years to come. At the same time, however, the number of Shell Recharge charging stations at and beyond filling stations will increase. Some, especially inner-city filling stations, will be converted into mobility hubs, which will then be designed purely for electric cars,” Glattes concludes.
