Global car distributor Inchcape and Chilean energy company Copec Voltex have formed a strategic alliance to accelerate electric vehicle adoption in Chile, where EVs already represent more than 10% of new sales. The partnership seeks to make EV ownership more accessible by combining Inchcape’s global automotive experience with Copec Voltex’s charging infrastructure.

The agreement will allow Inchcape customers to access preferential installation of home chargers, personalised energy advice, and exclusive benefits within the Copec Voltex network. The companies present the initiative as a way to simplify the transition to electric mobility by integrating vehicle sales, charging and customer support into a single connected process.

Jorge Maldonado, managing director of Inchcape Chile, said the move is a “concrete step” towards making electromobility a tangible and everyday experience. Copec Voltex’s general manager, Andrea Castro, noted the deal was signed on World Electric Vehicle Day, calling it a reaffirmation of the firm’s commitment to cleaner and more efficient transport.

The collaboration also includes joint marketing campaigns, technical training for Inchcape staff and Copec Voltex’s participation in the launch of new electric and plug-in hybrid models. Charging information and advertising will be displayed in Inchcape showrooms and service centres to give prospective buyers direct access to solutions.
