UK EV charging network InstaVolt has announced its next major infrastructure project: a 30-bay ultra-rapid charging superhub located on the A303 near Chicklade, Wiltshire, just 10 miles west of Stonehenge. The project includes a 40-year lease and features on-site amenities such as a large café and farm shop provided by one of the UK’s top hospitality operators.

The new hub aims to serve both long-distance travellers and the local community, addressing rising demand for high-speed, reliable electric vehicle (EV) charging along one of southern England’s busiest travel corridors. Planning permission and grid connection approvals are already in place, with construction set to begin in August 2025.

“Chicklade is the next step in our mission to combine scale, sustainability and convenience,” said Delvin Lane, CEO of InstaVolt. “With 30 ultra-rapid chargers and an on-site farm shop and café, this peaceful stop will become a vital charging destination along the A303—powered by the latest in renewable energy innovation.”

The site is expected to open in late spring 2026 and is set to continue to scale the company’s nationwide rollout of ultra-rapid charging stations.

Following the model of InstaVolt’s Winchester superhub, the Wiltshire location will include on-site battery storage and solar power, enabling discounted charging during off-peak periods.
