InstaVolt has announced a major UK-wide upgrade programme aimed at improving speed, accessibility, and convenience for electric vehicle (EV) drivers. The initiative focuses on replacing older charging units with next-generation models offering higher power and wider, more accessible bays.

The upgrade programme began recently at Chineham Business Park in Basingstoke, where two original 50 kW chargers were replaced with a new 120 kW ultra-rapid charger. The new unit significantly reduces charging times, enabling drivers to top up in as little as 20 minutes. It also features a wider bay for easier parking and charging, improving access for all EV users.

Like all InstaVolt chargers, the new unit supports contactless payment via major credit and debit cards, Apple Pay, Android Pay, and various roaming partners. The site is open 24/7, powered by 100% renewable energy, and backed by over 99% reliability, providing drivers with a dependable and sustainable charging experience.

The Chineham installation marks the start of a broader rollout, with upgrades planned in the coming months at key locations including Gainsborough, Tiverton, Crediton, Stroud, and Sheffield, among others.

The upgrade program underscores InstaVolt’s commitment to expanding and future-proofing the UK’s charging infrastructure as the country accelerates toward a zero-emission transport future.
