The site near Los Angeles International airport features 48 ultrafast EV charging bays.

bp pulse has opened its biggest EV charging hub in the United States, located just two miles from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). The new site offes 48 ultrafast DC fast chargers with both CCS and NACS connectors.
The chargers, which include a combination of 150kW and 400kW units, are designed to support a broad range of electric vehicles, from personal cars to ride-hailing fleets and rental returns. The site is expected to serve the high-volume traffic around LAX, one of the U.S.’s busiest airports.
Beyond vehicle charging, the bp pulse site will offer restrooms, a lounge, vending machines, and free Wi-Fi.
The project received a $2 million grant from the California Energy Commission (CEC), contributing to the state’s broader transportation electrification goals. CEC Chair David Hochschild noted that the project highlights the importance of public-private partnerships in addressing emissions and supporting job creation.
The new site is also a milestone within bp pulse’s strategic rollout in collaboration with Hertz. The two companies previously announced plans to deploy EV charging hubs near airports and other high-traffic locations. This LAX facility is among the first tangible outcomes of that partnership.
For bp pulse, the US market is one of four key growth areas globally. The company is pursuing an integrated energy strategy that includes installing EV chargers at its traditional retail locations across 46 states.
