Prone to false alarms from temperature shifts or calibration drift, these systems lack context and can contribute to alarm fatigue. SIR can also highlight poor dipping practices, helping managers quickly identify and correct human errors that would otherwise compromise the quality of inventory data. For example, one of our customers, a fuel retailer with over 200 sites, has a large number of sites with manual dipsticks. Over 12 months, through SIR, on average 39 tanks accounting for 6% of their network were declared out of compliance each month due to poor dipping practices.
