New facility marks a major step in Sweden’s transition to clean mobility and the expansion of a national hydrogen network.

OKQ8 and Econ have officially opened their first hydrogen refueling station in Gothenburg, supplied by Resato Hydrogen Technology. The new site is part of OKQ8’s planned national network of hydrogen stations, developed in partnership with Skellefteå Kraft, a municipally owned Swedish energy company.
The new station supports refueling at 350 bar and 700 bar, making it suitable for both heavy-duty transport and passenger vehicles. This versatility addresses the growing demand for zero-emission transport solutions and supports Sweden’s national targets for a climate-neutral transportation network.
“With the opening of this station, we are jointly taking an important step towards clean and sustainable mobility in Sweden,” said Rob Castien, CEO of Resato Hydrogen Technology. “It shows how cooperation between technology, project development, and operations can lead to true progress.”
The ceremony was attended by company representatives, media, and local stakeholders, marking a key milestone in Sweden’s hydrogen mobility transition and the broader European push toward a low-carbon transport future.
