The partnership between OKQ8, Skellefteå Kraft, and Volvo Trucks continues to drive the electrification of heavy road transport with the opening of a  new ultra-fast charging station in Värnamo, Sweden.

This new facility is part of an initiative to establish one of the country’s largest interconnected networks of public charging stations for heavy-duty vehicles. The site includes two chargers with a continuous power output of 350kW and a payment terminal, allowing multiple trucks to charge simultaneously.

"Its location in the port and the logistics flow it supports make this an ideal spot for ultra-fast charging for heavy traffic. We are confident that increased charging opportunities for heavy transport vehicles are key to accelerating the transition," said Karin Eriksson, CEO of OKQ8.

The collaboration between the three companies is focused on increasing opportunities for heavy transport vehicles to switch to electric power.

Thanks to funding from the Swedish Energy Agency, this initiative currently covers a total of 41 locations, split between Volvo Truck dealerships and OKQ8 facilities.
