ReFuels signs first fixed-price Bio-CNG deal with UK logistics operator

Multi-year agreement provides price stability and accelerates transition to renewable biomethane for heavy goods vehicles.

ReFuels has entered into a fixed-price renewable biomethane (Bio-CNG) supply agreement with one of the UK’s largest logistics operators. The multi-year deal secures a fixed price at fuel dispensers across its Bio-CNG refueling network, enabling a faster shift from diesel to renewable and sustainable biomethane.
“CNG Fuels’ first Bio-CNG hedging agreement demonstrates the confidence the logistics industry has in Bio-CNG as a lasting decarbonisation solution,” said Philip Fjeld, CEO and co-founder of ReFuels. “It offers our customers price certainty while providing us with visibility on stable, low-risk multi-year cash flows. We see strong interest from other fleet operators, and over time, such agreements could account for a material share of our annual volumes.”
The deal was signed through CNG Fuels, which is 40% owned by ReFuels and currently operates 16 public-access refueling stations in the UK. The company is capable of serving more than 10,500 heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) per day.
ReFuels plans to double this capacity by the end of 2028, enabling more than 20,000 vehicles to refuel annually and delivering over 780 million kilograms of Bio-CNG. This expansion could achieve up to 2 million tonnes of CO₂ savings per year compared to diesel.
The agreement marks a significant milestone in the UK’s transition to cleaner road freight, demonstrating the growing role of Bio-CNG as a scalable, commercially viable solution for decarbonising heavy transport.
