The relaunch marks one of the most significant upgrades to the network in recent years.

The Shell Pineview service station at La Vigie, on Mauritius’s M1 motorway, has reopened after extensive renovation works aimed at modernising the site and expanding its services. The relaunch, attended by Transport Minister Osman Mahomed and senior executives from Shell’s licensee Vivo Energy, marks one of the most significant upgrades to the network in recent years.
The refurbished site features a redesigned Shell Select shop, the first “lubes shop” in the Mauritian network, a McDonald’s with drive-through service and a Bosch automotive centre, reflecting the growing trend for service stations to act as multi-purpose hubs rather than simple fuel stops. Shell Pineview will continue to offer Shell V-Power, which is now available at 27 stations across the island.
Sustainability measures include a rainwater recovery system, on-site water treatment and solar-powered lighting. Vivo Energy said the investment fits into its broader strategy of transforming Shell stations into “community hubs” combining fuel, food and retail services. Stan Mittelman, chief executive of Vivo Energy, said the company was committing to similar projects across the region, with the goal of offering “more convenience, more comfort and more choice” to customers.
