YPF Digital (YDI), the division responsible for managing YPF's digital assets, is in the final stages of transforming the YPF app into Argentina’s first digital wallet developed by an energy company.

Starting in April, customers will gradually be able to use the platform as a payment method for mobility-related services. With this move, the app is stepping into the competitive digital wallet market.

“The YPF app has always led the charge in digitizing the customer experience. Now, with this new development, we are once again positioning ourselves at the forefront of technology in the mobility sector,” said Guillermo Garat, President of YDI.

In December 2024, the app processed 420 payments per minute during peak hours, totaling 5.7 million transactions. Over 4.5 million active users engaged with the platform, registering more than 60 million visits and redeeming 20 million rewards in 2024, establishing itself as a key tool for Argentinian customers.

Expanding its services and growing its digital ecosystem is a natural evolution for the app. With that vision in mind, the company has taken strategic steps over the past two years, including the creation of YPF Digital to manage and enhance the company’s digital assets.

YDI has obtained authorization from Argentina’s Central Bank (BCRA) to operate as a Payment Service Provider (PSP) and is now developing various features that will be rolled out throughout the year.

With this transformation, YPF strengthens its leadership in fuel stations and digital payments, extending its reach across the entire mobility value chain in Argentina.
