YPF has agreed to sell 100% of its stake in ‘YPF BRASIL COMÉRCIO DE DERIVADOS DE PETRÓLEO LTDA’ to Usiquimica, a Brazilian company with over 80 years of experience in production and marketing of chemicals.

The move is part of the company’s wider 4x4 plan and as part of the review and active management of its portfolio. YPF Brazil, established in 1998, has had its own lubricants plant since 2015 with a historical production capacity of 48,000 cubic metres per year and a market share of close to 2% in the neighbouring country.

This sales agreement includes the terms and conditions for the execution of a licensing agreement for the use of YPF's lubricant brands, which will maintain the presence of YPF products in the country.

This decision is part of the ongoing process of reviewing the portfolio, with the aim of achieving greater focus and profitability.

In order to strengthen its position in the field of new energies, the company's board has also decided to create a new vice-presidency that will focus on developing a strategic plan for the next decade. In this new approach, companies such as YPF Luz, Mega and Profertil will play a key role in the future energy transition.
