Jacksons expands EV charging infrastructure across the U.S.

The move is set to bring high-speed, solar-powered EV charging to key travel corridors in the western United States starting in summer 2025.

Jacksons Food Stores has officially broken ground on a major initiative to expand electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure across its network. 

The retailer has begun this development with the installation of DC Super-Fast Level 3 charging stations at nine locations in California, Idaho, and Washington. The move, in partnership with OnPoint EV Solutions, is set to bring high-speed, solar-powered EV charging to key travel corridors in the western United States starting in summer 2025.

These sites are strategically located to serve thousands of EV drivers along major interstate corridors helping to bridge infrastructure gaps and support long-distance travel.

“Adding EV charging to Jacksons stores gives even more drivers access to best-in-class services like fresh food, beverages, groceries, clean restrooms, and—if they’re lucky—a free banana. EV drivers value innovation, making them a perfect match for the Jacksons brand,” said Cory Jackson, President of Jacksons Food Stores.

Each site will be equipped with four public direct-current fast-chargers offering up to 360kW of power. The stations will also feature solar canopies, bright LED lighting, 24/7 access, high-speed managed Wi-Fi, security cameras, and digital kiosks connected to both the retailer’s and OnPoint’s mobile apps.

The first nine Jacksons charging sites are expected to be operational by summer 2025, with more locations planned through late 2025 and into 2026.
