Annual convention highlights industry priorities, leadership renewal, and strategic direction in a shifting landscape.

The 35th edition of the Onexpo Convention & Expo (OCE) has once again solidified its reputation as a cornerstone event for Mexico’s fuel retail sector. Held from May 21 to 23, the 2025 edition brought together industry leaders, government representatives, suppliers, and technical experts to navigate current challenges and chart a future-ready roadmap for the national fuel market.
With a dynamic and content-strong agenda, the event focused on knowledge exchange, professional development, and strategic dialogue. Participants gined access to training sessions and high-level discussions on the evolving energy landscape, making the convention a vital platform for players determined to stay ahead in the competitive and regulated fuel industry.
“This event offered much more than visibility—it gave us a chance to connect directly with key stakeholders, understand the evolving needs of the Mexican market, and gain valuable insights into the regulatory and technological environment,” said Pedro Ruiz, Vice President of International Sales at Bennett Pump.
Key themes addressed throughout the event included energy reform, environmental regulations, digital transformation, artificial intelligence in fuel operations, and customer experience innovation. Industry voices such as Javier Govea, Saidh Martínez, Alejandro Montufar, Marco Antonio Regil, and José Antonio Meade shared critical insights on how the sector can adapt and grow in a complex operating environment.
A highlight of the convention was the formal appointment of Enrique Félix Robledo as the new president of Onexpo Nacional during the opening ceremony. In his speech, Robledo thanked outgoing president Jorge Mijares Casas and underscored the importance of collaboration across government, industry suppliers, and fuel retailers from Mexico’s 32 federal entities. He also emphasized the need for strong representation and unified vision.
Robledo outlined the strategic priorities for his tenure, calling for streamlined administrative processes, enhanced fuel traceability to combat illegal supply, and investment in modern logistics infrastructure. His message to attendees was clear: the industry must continue evolving to meet regulatory demands while ensuring long-term competitiveness and resilience.
