Onexpo’s 2025 Convention & Expo is set to reaffirm its position as the leading business forum for Mexico’s fuel retailers. Hosted at the Barceló Maya Riviera Hotel, the event will bring together specialized suppliers and industry leaders for a strategic agenda focused on the key challenges, innovations, and future outlooks of the country’s fuel sector.

Attendees will have access to keynote speeches, technical panels, workshops, and networking sessions designed to provide updates on crucial topics such as regulatory frameworks, environmental compliance, energy transition, market intelligence, emerging technologies, and customer experience.

One of the most anticipated sessions will explore Mexico’s energy reform from both legal and operational perspectives. Experts Javier Govea (GMB Abogados) and Saidh Martínez (Assist Legal Energy) will unpack the real-world impact of regulatory changes on the day-to-day operation of service stations.

Environmental regulation will also take center stage, with Angélica Guadarrama Chávez of the Mexican Petroleum Institute delivering a specialized talk on the implementation and reporting requirements under NOM-004-ASEA-2017, emphasizing environmental compliance and best operational practices.

Data intelligence will play a key role in this year’s discussions. Alejandro Montufar, CEO of PETROIntelligence, will examine the link between fuel prices and inflation, dismantling common myths around cost structures in the fuel market. Meanwhile, Jorge Pedroza, CTO of CogniTactiX, will focus on how AI, automation, and predictive analytics can support better decision-making and enhance safety and operational efficiency at service stations.

On the topic of leadership and professional development, renowned speaker Marco Antonio Regil will deliver a keynote titled “Change Your Story”, emphasizing purposeful leadership and reinvention in times of transformation. Entrepreneur and investor Marcus Dantus will follow with a session on the importance of innovation, sharing insights from his own ventures and experience with disruptive business models.

Geopolitical and economic foresight will be provided by José Antonio Meade, who will assess Mexico’s situation on Donald Trump’s return to the U.S. presidency. Complementing this, former ambassador Arturo Sarukhán will offer a critical analysis of Mexico-U.S. relations in 2025, covering energy trade, migration policy, and regulatory cooperation.

Customer experience will be another highlight, with Brigitte Seumenicht presenting strategies for delivering extraordinary and memorable consumer interactions. Additionally, a technical panel on volumetric controls featuring Javier Atzin (Atzin Legal), Valeria Vázquez (Deloitte), and Isidro Fernández (IFENERGHI) will tackle compliance with tax and tech requirements for fuel measurement and storage.

Other key topics on the agenda include the presentation of the National Gas Station Registry (RENAGAS), brand expansion strategies, digital technologies, workforce training, sustainability, alternative fuel mobility, and the use of open data for business decision-making.

Beyond the academic program, the event will include a high-level social agenda. The welcome dinner will feature the Gasoline Leadership Awards and the Fotovisioneess4 photography contest, with performances by Jorge Muñiz and Carlos Cuevas. The gala dinner will close the event with a headline show by Pepe Aguilar, alongside sponsored giveaways.
