ORLEN pilots Too Good To Go partnership at Czech gas stations

New partnership allows customers to rescue unsold food at Prague and Brno locations.

ORLEN has launched a pilot program aimed at reducing food waste at Czech gas stations by partnering with the surplus food app Too Good To Go. The initiative, currently active at selected filling stations in Prague and Brno, enables customers to purchase Surprise Bags containing unsold food items from ORLEN’s Stop Cafe offerings.

The collaboration represents a new dimension in ORLEN Unipetrol Group’s long-term sustainability strategy. By joining forces with Too Good To Go, the company is expanding its environmental and social impact while offering a convenient solution to a widespread issue.

“Sustainability is one of the crucial tracks that we follow within our retail strategy,” said Agnieszka Bobrukiewicz, member of the Board of Directors at ORLEN Unipetrol Group. “Thanks to the collaboration with Too Good To Go, we can reduce the amount of food waste effectively and offer our customers an attractive way to join these efforts.”

Through the Too Good To Go app, customers can reserve Surprise Bags filled with a mix of Stop Cafe items such as pastries, sandwiches, wraps, and paninis. The contents vary daily depending and two versions are offered, a salty option and a sweet option. 

“Customers appreciate the opportunity to contribute to a more sustainable world through their purchases,” said Anna Podkowińska-Tretyn, Country Director of Too Good To Go for Poland and Czechia. “RLEN is the first network of filling stations in the Czech Republic to join Too Good To Go. We believe that together, we can also be an inspiration for other businesses.”

The pilot project aligns with ORLEN’s broader efforts to promote environmental responsibility and customer engagement across  over 400 stations in Czechia. If successful, the program may soon expand to more locations nationwide.
