OXXO and Mercado Pago have announced a new collaboration that allows customers to withdraw cash from their digital accounts at more than 23,000 OXXO stores nationwide. The move aims to strengthen financial inclusion across Mexico, leveraging the retailer’s reach throughout the country.
Enabled through Mastercard’s clearing network in Mexico, the agreement provides millions of people with secure, convenient access to their money through a trusted and widespread retail network. The initiative further integrates digital financial tools with everyday needs, offering practical solutions to support the country's digital financial ecosystem.
Eduardo Velasco Garza, Director of Services at OXXO Mexico, emphasized the company's mission: “At OXXO, we are committed to offering services that simplify financial access. This collaboration with Mercado Pago strengthens our role in promoting financial inclusion by providing safe and nearby alternatives for our customers, reaffirming our position as a key link between people and the services they need.”
To withdraw funds, users must present their physical Mercado Pago card, specify the amount, and enter their PIN. The maximum withdrawal per transaction is 3,000 pesos, with a 20-peso fee (VAT included).
Ramiro Nández, User Director at Mercado Pago, highlighted the importance of combining cash access with digital convenience: “At Mercado Pago, we believe financial democratization begins by integrating services into people’s everyday lives. Cash remains essential for millions of Mexicans, and this partnership allows us to bridge the gap between the physical and digital worlds—fostering a more inclusive, connected, and secure economy for everyone.”
With this collaboration, OXXO and Mercado Pago bring digital financial services even closer to everyday life, offering a practical, safe, and accessible way for users to manage their money.
