TotalEnergies expands dealer network in Tanzania

Last update: Oct 9, 2025

New Kimara service station brings locally owned TotalEnergies-branded outlets to 25 nationwide.

TotalEnergies Marketing Tanzania is strengthening its retail presence across the country with the continued expansion of its Dealer-Owned Dealer-Operated (DODO) fuel station model.

The company’s newest service station in Kimara marks the 25th outlet operating under the DODO model in Tanzania, according to Daily News Tanzania. The approach enables independent investors to build and operate stations under the TotalEnergies brand, while benefiting from the company’s fuel supply, training, and operational support.

The new Kimara station is operated by Godfrey Nyashange, an entrepreneur who spent nearly a decade abroad investing in fuel retail businesses before returning to Tanzania. Speaking at the opening, Nyashange urged fellow members of the diaspora to consider investing in their home country, highlighting the importance of local participation in national development.

“You can travel everywhere, but home is home. It’s important to invest at home. The Tanzanian economy must be built by Tanzanians themselves,” Nyashange said.

Abdallah Msangi, Network Operations Manager at TotalEnergies Marketing Tanzania, emphasized that the company remains committed to supporting the government’s clean energy agenda by bringing essential services closer to communities across the country.

The Kimara station, which employs 25 local staff, is part of TotalEnergies’ broader strategy to expand its retail footprint and empower Tanzanian entrepreneurs through sustainable business models that contribute to economic growth and energy access.
