Cary Oil Company has completed the sale of its Breeze Thru Markets convenience store business to Sampson-Bladen Oil Company, Inc.

The deal expands Sampson-Bladen’s retail footprint and marks a strategic shift for Cary Oil as it sharpens its focus on its core wholesale fuels operations. Transaction includes 15 Breeze Thru branded stores located throughout North Carolina, which offer bp, 76, and Amoco fuels and serve communities across the state.

With the addition, Sampson-Bladen Oil’s network now totals 125 convenience stores spanning North Carolina from Duck to Blowing Rock.

Cary Oil, a family-owned company founded in 1959, will continue operating its wholesale fuel distribution business, which supplies around 1,000 dealers in over 20 states and delivers nearly a billion gallons of fuel each year.

John Litton Clark, president of Sampson-Bladen Oil, praised the acquisition as an opportunity to build on a trusted brand in the region: “The Stephenson Family has built a very well-known and successful family business, and we are honored to carry on this part of their legacy.”

The transaction reinforces both companies’ commitment to serving North Carolina communities while strengthening their positions in the competitive convenience retail and fuel markets.
