Circle K has launched its first-ever fully electric vehicle (EV) service station in the Gårda district of Gothenburg, Sweden, marking a significant milestone in the company’s transition to e-mobility.

The site, developed in partnership with Finnish fast-charging specialist Kempower, is the first in Scandinavia to offer only EV charging, with no fuel pumps on-site. Officially inaugurated on May 23, the station features two 600kW Kempower Power Units and ten Kempower Single Satellites, each capable of delivering up to 400kW to connected vehicles.

Using a dynamic power distribution system, the station automatically allocates power where it's needed most, optimizing the experience for EV drivers in this high-traffic urban area.

“Customer experience and satisfaction are paramount to us, and we’re pleased to be working with Kempower as we continue to strengthen our e-mobility offering—an area that remains a key strategic focus for our business,” said Maria Estenstad Friis, Director of Circle K’s Charge Point Operator function.

A standout feature of the new site is Kempower’s enhanced Autocharge technology, which enables frequent users to plug in and start charging automatically, without the need for authentication.

The new Gothenburg station also includes a Circle K convenience store, offering grab-and-go snacks, coffee, and travel essentials for on-the-move drivers.

This flagship location is set to act as a blueprint for future EV-only stations across Scandinavia and beyond, as Circle K accelerates its investment in electric mobility.
