A new high-power charging hub for electric trucks has opened at Sekkelsten in Askim, Norway. The launch, backed by Circle K and Enova, coincides with a broader push to expand charging infrastructure for trucks in 2025. Government officials, industry representatives, and Circle K’s leadership attended the event, emphasizing the importance of reducing emissions from heavy transport.

The new station at Circle K E18 Sekkelsten features four chargers with up to 400 kW capacity, designed to accommodate trucks efficiently. Operators and industry stakeholders see this as a crucial development in reducing range anxiety and encouraging more transport companies to transition to electric fleets.

Circle K aims to expand its charging infrastructure significantly, with plans for 10 to 15 new truck charging sites in 2025, adding 40 to 50 dedicated charging spaces. The company envisions a future where charging an electric truck is as straightforward as refueling a diesel vehicle. Industry leaders note that scaling up charging availability is a critical factor in accelerating heavy transport’s shift to electric power.
